WWOL780AM  The Gospel Voice of the Carolina Foothills

WWOL History

On October 29, 1989, the church overwhelmingly agreed to purchase the radio station and 7.2 acres of property at 1381 W. Main St, Forest City, from the Rutherfordton County Broadcasting Company for $150,000.  It was the original WBBO station which opened in 1947.

On April 1, 1990 we began broadcasting as a Christian Radio Station on 780 AM with 1,000 Watts of power.  December 20, 1994, the FCC granted the station permission to increase its power to 10,000 watts.

WWOl, "Wonderful Words of Life", is a missionary outreach of Holly Springs Baptist Church, broadcasting seven days a week from Sun-Up to Sun-Down.  Our format is Southern Gospel Music and Gospel preaching and teaching God's Word.  We have listeners in all of Western North Carolina and Upper South Carolina.

The Board of Directors are: Gerald Chapman, Dwayne Duncan, and James Henson.  Rev. Wade H. Huntley is the Chairman and Station Manager.
